The site context model was fabricated in collaboration with fellow students at the woodshop. The massing model was 3D printed using standard PLA material.
Voids, central to the design concept, created a challenge for the 3D printing process. As a result, the model is comprised of 6 different prints. Floor plates and structural columns, exterior walls, and roofs were printed separately onto 6 print beds. This process reduced visual seams and reduced the use of excess support material.
