About me

Hello! I am Valentina Mancera, a fifth year Bachelor of Architecture candidate at Tulane University's School of Architecture (TuSA). I am originally from Sarasota, Florida and I have roots in Bogotá, Colombia where most of my family resides. Currently, I live in New Orleans, Louisiana where I manage the TuSA Fabrication Labs and maintain 3D printers. I am an intern at the Albert and Tina Small Center for Collaborative Design where I have most recently worked on eco-cabins in Ecuador.

I am interested in the intersection between sustainable and community-oriented design at multiple scales in the built environment. Context is key to my design approach in terms of aesthetics and usage. I research themes such as  adaptive reuse, affordable housing, and energy reduction as they are crucial to a more regenerative future.
